Through peer support groups (networks, people of equal social standing, ethnicity, age, and gender), the IDDI provides training aimed at strengthening human rights, economic, and social advocacy mechanisms. Description of the project

Humanitarian assistance to persons of interest, refugees, and asylum seekers aims to integrate and empower them to exercise their economic, civil, and political rights (even if someone is regularized, I believe they are prohibited from engaging in political life in the country). Therefore, the different ways in which UNHCR provides support to this population are always guided by the principle of autonomy and self-sufficiency. For this reason, IDDI, through its intervention in neighborhoods and priority areas, seeks to provide legal, community, psychological assistance, and economic resources, from a comprehensive and humanitarian approach where the participation and inclusion of the host community and the population of interest are key; in order to guarantee full access and enjoyment of basic rights and services.

It promotes refugees having the skills and abilities to opt for sources of employment that allow them to generate income to cover their basic needs, free from intimidation or discrimination. However, it is crucial for individuals to have the necessary documentation defining their legal status in order to obtain formal employment.
