This project aims to promote the development of the solid waste recycling market in Santo Domingo through the establishment of social enterprises formed by community organizations and the national recyclers network, ensuring that the benefits of this activity directly contribute to the socioeconomic development of marginalized communities.
The actors include 5 community environmental sanitation foundations that carry out collection services in those communities, more than 50 informal waste pickers from the intervention area, recyclers at a national level, and the private sector.
