Project objective

To develop and implement a place-based assessment of the risk of delinquency and violence affecting young people aged 10-29 years in 18 neighborhoods of the National District of the Dominican Republic.

  • To produce data and evidence, which can inform USAID in the development and implementation of effective youth violence prevention strategies in the target neighborhoods.
  • Produce a data-driven, community-based assessment process (using Participatory Action Research - PAR) that can be replicated over time to track changes in risk and protective factors, monitor progress, and inform stakeholders about target communities.
Beneficiary population

The entire population that will benefit from the projects towards the prevention of youth violence.

Impact

Improved water supply to 30 communities.

Water conservation measures under water impacts implemented for 2,722 hectares

Provincial Climate Change Adaptation Monitoring Committee in San Cristóbal.

Platforms and learning systems for integrating climate change-related risks into community-based water resource management and institutionalized livelihood activities in 30 communities.
