About Us

Our History

The Dominican Institute for Integral Development, IDDI was born in 1984 from the ideal and concern of a group of men and women to form a society where human beings have opportunities to lead a productive, creative, dignified life, according to their needs and interests and where the rapprochement and dialogue between the various sectors of our society is encouraged.

The insertion, each time greater, of the marginalized population in the process of decision making on national development, constituted the nucleus of the work of the Dominican Institute of Integral Development (IDDI) in its first two decades of existence.

IDDI is projected towards the service working together with the Dominican population of scarce resources, to provide them with the tools that serve them to raise their quality of life. IDDI concentrates its support activities on the low income population living in the urban areas of the country with emphasis on the city of Santo Domingo and the provinces of Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macoris, Hato Mayor, El Seybo, La Altagracia, La Romana, Monseñor Nouel, Azua, Barahona and Bonao. The total number of beneficiaries supported by IDDI is approximately 580,000 people.

"We are a solidary and proactive Institution with respect for others and their real needs."
