The challenge is to purify ourselves in such a way that we can cleanse those very foggy filters through which we see reality. Instead of seeing fear, hatred, resentment and malice, we must see compassion, love and peace. We have the power to see what we want to see. The laws of the ego are totally opposite to the laws of love. On the one hand, the more one gives to the world the less one has; however, the more love one gives the more we receive. In itself, love can be seen as the detachment from fear. The essence of love is to be able to give of it without limitations. Only in this way can we experience the unlimited miracle of love and kindness. This is achieved by understanding how love has no limits, how we can give of it without fear of it running out.
It is time to begin to see beyond our current reality and enter a state of clarity in which we see that we are masters of our own destinies subject only to ourselves, capable of changing ourselves and the world we live in. It is high time.
The harmonization of the human being leads to its purification and vice versa. Neither of these can be achieved in isolation from the other. What is important is that they are the two most outstanding work tasks in terms of the inner development of the human being. It is essential to apply our energies and time in favor of the transformation of our beings since the true revolution begins from within. It is not possible to share with the world what we ourselves do not possess.
While inward work implies an effort toward personal development, outward work entails the application of our energies to the development of society and the world in which we live. It is neither possible, nor desirable, to direct our efforts solely in favor of ourselves. The human being is not an island. Personal growth occurs precisely as a consequence of a dynamic of interrelation with our environment. The effort in favor of the development of others is part of the development of the individual being, since the well-being of the whole is the well-being of one. There is no division. There cannot be, since we are members of the whole, but at the same time, the whole is composed of its members.
It must be clear that the development of the individual depends on the development of the collective and vice versa. In order to create a healthier world, it is necessary to create healthy individuals with balanced consciences and free from the constraints imposed by our egos. It is, then, the responsibility of these individuals to help transform our collective reality by contributing what they have learned and receiving, at the same time, the necessary feedback to be able to continue developing themselves.
We are what we believe. Our belief system is based on past experiences that are constantly super imposed on the present with the anticipation of future occurrences.
Our perceptions of the present are so controlled by the past that it is almost impossible to see things without distortions and limitations. With the will, we can re-examine who we believe we are and achieve a new and deeper understanding of our personal and collective identity.
On the other hand, the purification of the human being implies the elimination of the ego, which is undoubtedly the greatest obstacle to our personal evolution. The ego is an illusion that each of us constructs with the intention of defending ourselves from the perceived aggressions of others. It is an illusion because it changes from one day to the next (i.e. it is not permanent but transitory) and is based on fear: fear of failure, fear of losing, fear of the opinions of others, fear of being vulnerable, fear of dying, etc. Fear distorts our view of reality and constantly confuses us. It is as if we have very dark glasses that do not allow us to see things as they really are. As we eliminate fear and, consequently, the ego from our lives, we will experience a very deep transformation.
Understanding that life is a continuous flow of experiences to which we are constantly subjected, it must be the responsibility of every human being to live them, learn how to assimilate them and turn them into lessons through which we can grow and evolve. (It goes without saying that otherwise, being alive would be meaningless).
Many of the experiences are on the surface apparently arbitrary, dispersed, without thread or relationship, but this is not so. There is a very precise sequence and order in them, each one added to the previous one and if we pay attention to them, they could help to orient our lives allowing us to build a frame of reference for individual and collective improvement and transformation. The understanding of this thread of experiences is perhaps the most significant challenge of our lives and to be able to realize this it is essential to create a coherent vision of the whole, in order to understand where we fit as living, conscious and evolving beings.
At first glance (although only for purposes of further elucidation of the subject) this thread could be divided into two large universes of experiences. These, in turn, would represent the two great focuses of our attention in which we have to invest our time and energy if we are to take advantage of the opportunity we have been given to be alive. They constitute the internal and external worlds.
Inner work contemplates the harmonization and inner purification of the human being in all its aspects. On the one hand, inner harmonization implies integrating all the physical, emotional, mental and intuitive qualities of the human being to form a balanced and equilibrated totality where there is no one (or several) aspect that stands out to the detriment of the others, thus upsetting our behavior, attitude, vision of life, etc.
